Three years ago, on this very day, I clicked “upload” on my first-ever YouTube video. I was nervous, unsure if anyone would watch, like, or even care. But deep inside, I had this little spark—a belief that maybe, just maybe, I could share something valuable with the world. And today, as I look back on this journey, I want to share my story with you, not to show off, but to inspire you to start your journey and stick to it.
The First Year (2022): The Struggle Phase
When I started, it was tough.
- Total Views: 33,850
- Total Subscribers: 1.7K
- Total Watch Time: 1.2K hours
- Revenue: $0
I put in hours of hard work, researching, filming, editing, and uploading, but the growth was slow. I questioned myself countless times: “Is this even worth it?” I wasn’t making any money, and sometimes, it felt like no one cared. But I stayed consistent. I told myself, “If I can make 10 people watch and learn today, maybe tomorrow, I’ll make 100.”
The Second Year (2023): The Breakthrough
And then, something clicked.
- Total Views: 821.3K+ (a growth of more than 999% from the first year)
- Total Subscribers: 20.7K+
- Total Watch Time: 43.3K+ hours
- Revenue: $1.4K+
This was the year I learned the power of smart work. I focused on understanding my audience, creating better content, and delivering value. The growth was unbelievable—a testament to what happens when you stay committed. I’ll never forget crossing 1,000 views on a single video for the first time or the day I earned my first dollar from YouTube. It wasn’t much, but it meant everything.
The Third Year (2024): The Scale-Up Phase
This year was all about scaling and improving.
- Total Views: 1.4M+ (74% growth)
- Total Subscribers: 18.3K+ (slightly lower than last year, but quality matters more than numbers)
- Total Watch Time: 89.6K+ hours (106% growth)
- Revenue: $4.6K+ (222% growth)
Here’s what I realized: Growth isn’t always linear, and that’s okay. My subscriber count didn’t grow as fast as it did last year, but my content reached more people, helped more lives, and brought more impact. My revenue grew over 3x this year—a result of better strategy and continuously improving my skills.
What This Journey Taught Me (and Can Teach You)
- The Power of Consistency
When I started, I had no clue what I was doing. But I kept showing up. Whether my videos got 10 views or 10,000 views, I showed up. Consistency is what turns small efforts into massive results over time. - Hard Work vs. Smart Work
The first year was all about hard work. The second and third years taught me the importance of smart work—analyzing what works, doubling down on it, and letting go of what doesn’t. - Invest in Your Skills
The real game-changer? Learning. I invested in my skills—editing, storytelling, and understanding my audience. And every time I leveled up, so did my channel. - Believe in the Compound Effect
The magic of growth lies in sticking to something long enough for the compound effect to kick in. Whether it’s YouTube, your business, or any goal you have, give it at least 1-3 years of your absolute best effort. You’ll be amazed at what happens.
My Message to You
If there’s something you’ve been wanting to start—a YouTube channel, a business, or learning a new skill—start today. It won’t be easy, and it won’t happen overnight. But if you stay consistent, work hard and smart, and keep improving, I promise you: The results will come.
Three years ago, I was just a guy with a dream and zero subscribers. Today, I’m sharing this journey with thousands of you, and it’s been the most fulfilling experience of my life.
Now, it’s your turn. Whatever you want to do, take that first step, and stick to it. Your future self will thank you.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Let’s grow together. 🙌
